Everyone's favorite blue-eyed brute. Ben Grimm "The Thing" is one of my favorite comic book characters and I wanted to try my hands at making a procedural skin texture for him in Substance Designer. Ben is a man with flesh and blood underneath the rocky exterior, so I wanted to create my material in a way that felt more organic and human than just a pile of rocks. I created the base human model primarily using MakeHuman. I created the shorts material in Substance Painter. Everything was finalized and rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 4.
